Building the Home for the Widows and Orphans

To all our friends and partners: All the items have been purchased, sand, cement, wood, block moulds, nails and the ground has been prepped for the start of the foundation. The last thing needed now is to purchase the Iron Rods. We need $3000 for the rods and supplies. It is important to get the rods, so that our supplies sitting on the land will not get ruined or stolen. This is an urgent plea. If you can donate at this time, please consider helping to build this home for orphans in Ghana. This is a great way to help others and change lives.

2018 Update

2018 Update:
Your gift helps us to Partner with and support The Gonzalez Educational Complex, Perfect Love Chapel Church, PLC Orphans and Widows and the Small Needs project which helps those on the streets  (predominately) in Ghana and all over world in urgent need.

Building Foundations 1x1 is a 501 C3 organization established in 2014.   We operate on a volunteer basis with virtually no overhead costs.  Which means over 92% of your donation goes to what it was designated for.  With help from monthly donors we have been able to continue to meet the urgent and monthly needs of those we partner with throughout Ghana.

This year we travelled to Ghana West Africa.  God brought some generous people on board and we were able to complete The Barbara Estrada memorial water tower at the Gonzalez School. We travelled into a new village, where we met with parents and village Elders desiring to build a school within the village.  We are going to help build the school and committed to paying the monthly salary for a teacher.  This year it is our hope to have a set budget for the needs we are committed to monthly and to gain some new monthly donors to help with new projects.

We provided funds for 18 PLC Orphans tuition fees, school clothes, lunch fees, supplies, books and transportation fees .  We were able to verify a great need for continued monthly support for the orphans and help with resources for the widows.  We are hoping to raise and send $100 a month to help pay for school lunches and transportation fees for the 18 school children.

We are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with building a permanent home for the Orphans and Widows of PLC.   We have the land paid off and have built a wall around the property.  It's now time to build a 4 bedroom Home, with room to build an additional level in the future.  We would be honored if you would consider  partnering with us in this new project as a monthly, bi monthly or yearly donor.

We are excited for the on-going ministry to help others.  Together with your continued support we will be able to continue to make a difference in the lives of the needy, sick and the very poor in this world.  We are truly thankful for your donations.

Mission Trip 2018

4-10-2018

Greetings Family and Friends:
Andy and Julie are excited to announce our upcoming Mission Trip to Ghana, West Africa.  Due to our relocation to Tennessee and many other life changes, our missions trip had to be postponed.  It has been almost 3 years since our last trip to Ghana.
We will head back to Kumasi and the surrounding villages.  We are excited to return to see our partners and our family once again.
  •     This trip we plan to bring materials to best teach/ train our Pastoral and Teacher Staff at the Gonzalez Educational Complex and Perfect Love Chapel. We will organize an Eye clinic and give away much needed reading glasses(200 pairs).  We will continue our visits to remote villages and provide clothes, food and resources to the orphans, widows and the needy.
  •      We will visit those who have partnered with us in our Small Needs Ministry. Following up on the projects that are in progress and have been completed with the help of all those supporting Building Foundations 1x1.
  •     We will visit Yaw and his Charity whom are building a small village with housing for orphans, widows and includes a training center and visitor’s quarters.  We will visit a remote village with Robert from Zenith Vision, who has built a small school  that our Building Foundation partners have provided school supplies, school desks and chairs.  We hope to meet the students who are recipients of The Barbara Estrada scholarships.
  •     This year we will travel to Poana, a remote village part of The PLC Church plant.  We will meet the Pastor's and congregation.  We are honored to speak at the PLC Bible College's first graduation ceremony and bless the new pastor's.
  •      The Gonzalez Educational Complex is in need of a new water well,  13 classroom whiteboards/ chalkboards and repair/ replacement of toilets and sinks in the school washroom.  We will be determining the needs at the school and provide for some of those needs.  If enough support is raised, we hope to complete some much needed repairs on the Gonzalez School bus.
  •      As always this trip will require much prayer and support from our family and friends.  It is our hope to raise at least $10,000 for plane tickets, hotel accommodations, food and travel within Ghana as well as funding for all projects and the needs we encounter.  We truly will be grateful for whatever you can give to help us on this journey.  Every dollar helps no matter what you can give.  If you can’t give at this time then we welcome your prayers before and during our missions trip.

Re: Donations.  If you need a tax deductible receipt , please make your checks out to: Building Foundations 1x1 and write Ghana mission in the memo.  If not , you can write it to Andy or Julie Estrada.  If you would like to give for the water well, reading glasses, clothes, food for the orphans or repairs at the Gonzalez School you can designate in the memo what you would like your donation to be used for.  100% of your donation goes towards your request.
We would like to thank all of our loved ones for  giving in the past, for those who support us regularly and those who are considering to give to us this trip.  Any donation is truly appreciated. If you have any questions feel free to contact us on our Website or send us a message at https://www.facebook.com/BuildingFoundations1x1/
Sincerely,

Our Desire

Our desire is to help those who can not help themselves whether it be for lack of resources, lack of employment, or a lack of the basic essentials, whether it be in Third world countries or those who are our neighbors and those in surrounding communities throughout America. We partner with those who are struggling to provide education, medical assistance and basic needs for Families, Orphans, Widows and the homeless. We first encourage them, build up thier self esteem and equip and train them to support their households. We help to provide shelter, food, clean water, medical care and school supplies and fees. We have have partnered with ministries in West Africa to provide a water well, school classrooms, washrooms, kitchen and safe school yards. We have renovated a small building in the middle of the ghetto streets of Little Accra. It will has a main sanctuary, offices, urinals and a childrens wing. We want to provide a place for those in need to go and recieve assistance. our next plan is to help build a home and training center, and community center in another community in Kumasi. Also, It is our desire to help others around the world and in our own back yard to stand with and walk with them through thier most trying times. It is our hope that they in turn will be encouraged to help others in need. We desire to be physically present and travel where needed to provide such assistance. We are seeking those who have a heart to give, who desire to see the fruits of their resources. there are many who can not Go but would rather give in confidence knowing thier provisions will be used almost entirely towards helping others. Building Foundations 1X1 takes the resources to build families and individual lives through training, encouragement and support. http://www.buildingfoundations1x1.com

We Are Able

So many times we want to give more to those that need help. We might think that giving only comes in the form of cash donations. This is not true; you can give by helping others. Everyone can give something whether it is time, money or some other way of helping others. Helping others includes the times when you visit the sick, run errands for someone who is unable or even when you just offer your umbrella to someone on a rainy day.
We are able to go and do these things. If you are looking for a way to help others today, maybe you can consider Donating to http://www.buildingfoundations1x1.com Help us Make a Difference in someones Life.
"Anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world."
- James 1:26-27 MSG

Gatlinburg Tennessee Fire Victims

During our visit to Tennessee, it was an honor to Be a blessing to someone else. To help a couple families in need. Affected by the great fire that had hit the city of Gatlinburg. Home and property lost. but they are safe and alive. The community is strong. They endure, rebuild and press onward. We blessed these couple families financially, to help them get through this difficult time. We received this photo and a thank you.
"Muchas gracias por su apoyo para las familias necesitadas. Dios siempre manda a sus ángeles y ustedes lo fueron, Paco, Jose están muy agradecidos por su ayuda, que Dios siga bendiciéndolos en abundancia. Muchas gracias"
...this is what we are called to do. There is so much more we can do. more lives to bless. Make a difference. Help us help others. http://www.buildingfoundatons1x1.com

Every Day

"There are so many needs in the world, and our hearts cannot carry them all. You must walk to the priorities God has set before you." -Ravi Zacharias
Grants, Sponsors, Donors: Every day we receive many requests for help. Feed children. pay for clothing. pay for schooling. housing. medical bills. We can help when we have more finances. Why donate to charity

I just read a great quote this morning. Why donate to charity: "Even small donations have an impact. When considering poverty in the developing world, many people feel deep sorrow but conclude that there is nothing we can do. The scale of poverty is immense and we seem powerless to stop it. Such despair is understandable, but the facts tell a very different story. While poverty is indeed extreme and widespread, it is easy to forget just how many people there are in the developed world, and how powerful our pocket change can become when pooled together. When giving to an effective charity, the size of your donation directly correlates with the number of people you are able to help. But you don't have to be a millionaire to make a significant difference; even small donations have the potential to drastically improve an individual's quality of life." All of us together can reach so many needs. Join with us. Help us help those in need. http://www.buildingfoundations1x1.com

God’s Will is the Best Possible Plan

I read a great devotional this morning. Encouragement and Confirmation. Through the years of our life, God’s plan has taken over our life. We never imaging being where we are , where we are going, what we are doing. Serving in missions. starting a non profit. giving all our life to help those in need. We know with all our heart that God has planned the road ahead of us. As we let go of all we are familiar with here. As we let go of our jobs. or home, or location. And as we step out and go where we are called to. Serve in missions. Live a life Loving God, loving others. serving those in need. All this involves moving to #Tennessee, our idea is to be on our way about Springtime 2017. It’s a brand new adventure for us. There, God is preparing everything for us to live completely for Him and do what He has called us to do. Serve those in need in the community around us, in our nation, in Africa, anywhere around the world. God will provide every resource. God will provide all we need. Partner with us. as we grow, as we Trust God. See what God does through our service to others. Donate to our non profit http://www.buildingfoundations1x1.com
"Since only God, our Creator, knows what will enable us to be fruitful, fulfilled and foster maturity, only He can design a future tailored to our unique needs, talents and gifts. John 10:10 says Jesus came to give us abundant life. Thus…when the Lord reveals the next ‘chapter’ prepared for us and we say, ‘Thank you, Lord, that is just what I want’…is that not a manifestation of the abundant life?...doing what we were created to do and doing it with all our heart!”
I. God’s Will is the Best Possible Plan.
Ephesians 1:1-20; Colossians 2:2-10
:
A. The Plan: We can do many things without God (acquire wealth…start a business…get an education…etc.), but only in God’s will can we find true joy, fulfillment, faithfulness…and expect someday to hear from Him… “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
That wonderful plan God has already designed for your life and mine contains the very best of Purpose, Adventure, Fulfillment, Joy, and new lessons.
B. The Trust:. Whom do you trust? Is there a person in your life with whom you would trust your very life, if necessary? A spouse...a parent…a sibling…a very good friend? Think about that person. And then realize that God loves you infinitely more than that person with whom you would trust your life!
We can trust someone who loves us perfectly…perfect love drives out all fear” 1 John 4:18.
“Then trust the Lord completely, don’t even trust yourself. In everything you do, put God first and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.” Proverbs 3:5 (LB)
II. Many Christians are Not Experiencing God’s Will for Their Lives. Why, What’s Wrong?
A. Eyes focused on things. A failure to yield our possessions …if there is something you own which you can’t give away, you don’t own it, it owns you!
Matthew 25:21…If God doesn’t get your attention on the ‘one-talent’ propositions in life, you’ll never get a chance at the ten talent ones! Our sinful nature…”All we, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way” (Isaiah 53:6) The ‘self-made man’ usually worships his creator…self!
B. Lack of knowledge about how to find God’s will (from scripture). There are many tests and formulas. Some valid...some misleading...and some dangerous.
The ‘closed door/open door’ policy (dashing to and fro looking for ‘open doors’ but finding only what seems to be ‘closed doors.’ Invalid because:
Looks for God’s will through a process of elimination rather than seeking god’s best first.
Fails to employ our God-given Holy Spirit anointed sound mind.
Allows elements of chance to influence a decision.
Not all closed doors are really closed…not all barriers are erected by God…some are mirages authored by the enemy to discourage and misdirect..
When Paul prayed for an open door in Colossians 4:3, it was not for guidance, but for opportunity. In 2 Corinthians 2:12 he actually chose to walk away from an ‘open door’ in order to find Titus. He chose to do so on the basis of the wise decision that finding Titus was of more value to the cause of Christ!
2. Impressions. Valid when:
Agrees with the Word of God.
The end involved gives Glory to the Lord Jesus.
It is reasonable (there are other voices our there).
3. The ‘God helps him who helps himself theory’…There is no such verse in scripture...God cannot help us when we are blocking His direction by ‘doing it ourselves’ apart from his guidance and power.
4. Looking for some big ‘Forty Year Plan.’ Invalid because God’s will is that wonderful settled peace (assurance) that ‘I am doing what God has directed, where He has directed…at this time. God rarely gives more light than needed for the next step.
5. Looking for God’s will in ‘Happenings.’ Invalid because although happiness may depend upon ‘happenings’…Joy depends only upon God!.
6. Looking for God’s will in some location or vocation. Invalid because God’s will is a Relationship (with Christ)…not a geographical or vocational search.
7. What about a ‘fleece’ (Judges 6:36-40)? Gideon’s fleece was not for guidance because God had already given specific guidance. Gideon was not asking for circumstantial evidence, but for confirmation
III. God Wants Us to Know His Will for Our Lives.
His will for our lives is not designed as a complicated mystery or puzzle which we have to decipher. He is a God of love.
Psalm 25:14…”The Lord Confides In Those Who Reverence Him. He Makes His Covenant Known To Them.”
John 7:17 “Anyone Who Chooses To Do God’s Will, Shall Know It.”
IV. How Can We Know God’s Will for Our Lives? Three Conditions:
Are you willing to do God’s will BEFORE you know what it is?
Are you, right now, clean? …cleansed according to 1 John 1:9 (Spiritual Breathing). We cannot expect to know God’s will if we are knowingly harboring unconfessed sin.
Are you surrendered …focused on Christ? (Filled with the Holy Spirit…according to Ephesians 5:18)?
GOOD NEWS: If Christ is on the throne of your life right now…you are in the exact center of God’s will for your life…because God’s will is not a location or vocation…it is a relationship. When we stay in that relationship, the vocation/location issues work themselves out in many natural and supernatural ways!
V. Why are We Here?
Our first and foremost ‘calling’ is a simple one. We are called to Jesus. That is, we are called to know Jesus more and more…better and better. We are called to an intimate relationship with the Lord of Lords.
Secondly: There is a unique calling common to ALL Christians? We are appointed as Ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20. The Great Commission to make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20) should be a continuous measurement of the use of our time, talent and treasure. Never lose sight of your primary calling. II Timothy 4:5…But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist “discharge all the duties of your of your ministry.” This is not an instruction to be a ‘Billy Graham’…but simply to do the ‘work’ of evangelism as a valid portion of your daily lifestyle. God is looking for full-time Christian architects, engineers, plumbers, postmen, butchers, policemen, carpenters, scientists, nurses, etc.
VI. Change. From time to time God will bring us to an ‘intersection’ in our life when an imminent change is obvious…He is about to open a new ‘chapter’ in our adventure and the Calling of following Jesus.
A. As we seek to discern His will in regard to an approaching ‘change, it is often helpful to remember the following:
Do Our Homework (gathering the facts). God specializes in the impossible (doing for us what we cannot do). But He will not do for us what we can clearly do with our own Holy Spirit-empowered mind…i.e. investigate fully all ‘options’ He has opened before us (there is always more than one and usually at least three potential ‘good’ options).
Evaluation. Each option should be evaluated and measured by the following criteria:
Prayer. Ask God to guide and thank Him for wisdom.
Make a ‘pro and con’ list evaluating the opportunities each option offers for spiritual ministry (point V-b above).
A comparison to ‘heart’s desire.’ If you have been walking with the Lord (Christ on the throne), then the ‘desires of the heart’ are a valid confirmation. Psalm 37:4…”Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” ‘Delighting yourself in the Lord is another way of describing ‘Christ on the throne’ lifestyle…a focus and close relationship with God which gives Him access to our heart (decision-making center) and…to implant a desire for that very thing in our heart…the ‘next chapter’ which he is about to open to us.
Since only God, our Creator, knows what will enable us to be fruitful, fulfilled and foster maturity, only He can design a future tailored to our unique needs, talents and gifts. John 10:10 says Jesus came to give us abundant life. Thus…when the Lord reveals the next ‘chapter’ prepared for us and we say, ‘Thank you, Lord, that is just what I want’…is that not a manifestation of the abundant life?...doing what we were created to do and doing it with all our heart!
Take the counsel of men and women-of-God whose testimony and walk-with-the-Lord you respect.
The inner voice of the Holy Spirit.
Convergence and timing of circumstances.
3. Step of Faith. When there is a certain synchronization of the above evaluations on one of the options, then is the time for a ‘Step of Faith.’ Not a ‘leap’ or ‘jump’…but merely a step…in the direction of that option. Psalm 37:23, 24…“If the Lord delights in a man’s way he makes his steps firm; although he stumble he will not fall for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” The step may be a very small one…such as filling an application…or going for an interview. But a ‘step of faith’ is very important. Some Christians commit the error of doing their homework and evaluation but then sitting and waiting on God to give a sign or otherwise overtly confirm. But if that were the way God leads, faith would not be needed. “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”…Hebrews 11:6
4. Confirmation. The ‘step of faith’ allows God to confirm the direction of the ‘step’ by delivering His Perfect Peace (the Peace that transcends all comprehension…Philippians 4:7)…or…a perfect lack-of-peace. The difference between these two is unmistakable. If the peace is there, keep stepping…in the direction toward that option…and God will continue to confirm. If the peace is lacking, re-evaluate and pray again about the options. Then take another ‘step of faith.’
“How can I Recognize my Destiny?
First it’s a desire that won’t let you go. Paul cried, “woe to me, if I do not preach…(1 Corinthians 9:16). Being queen was Esther’s position, but saving god’s people was her destiny. That’s why she risked everything and said, “…If I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16). We’re not important–God’s purpose is!
Second, your destiny will be more than a job, it’ll be a joy. Yes there will be sacrifices but through it all you will say, like David,“I delight to do thy will, O my God.” (Psalm 40:8) What a way to live!
Third your destiny will unlock your creativity. It will open doors and bring the right people to you. God’s purpose always carries with it God’s favor!
Finally, your destiny fulfilled is the only thing you will want to face God with. He won’t say ‘well done’ over the money you’ve made or the reputation you’ve built. He’ll only say it because you found and fulfilled His purpose.
This world delivers doubt and death
But we are dying too
For no bomb is so surely mortal
As death inside of you.
Some men die by bullets
Some men go down in flames
But most men perish inch by inch
In play at little games.
Surrendering to God’s will is no little game…but rather the ultimate in adventure. Yes, God’s Will includes trouble, trials, and tragedy…but it also includes the problem-solver and God of all comfort, our Savior.
