Acts 20:35 — “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Acts 20:35 — “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” ANDY ESTRADA·FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2015 In our human hearts it is so easy to forget Why we live, Why we have, Why we receive... We tend to keep and want more, and think only about ourselves. God gave us life to Give, to Serve, to Love. Jesus speaks about The Most Important Commandment. Matthew 22: 34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees with his reply, they met together to question him again. 35 One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” 37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” God’s Word is our guideline to really living. SCRIPTURAL PRINCIPLES OF GIVING > These key scripture verses are arranged according to the six principles found in Randy Alcorn's book The Treasure Principle: Discovering the Secret of Joyful Giving. God Owns Everything, and I Am His Money Manager My Heart Always Goes Where I Put God's Money Heaven, Not Earth, Is My Home I Should Not Live Merely for the Moment but for Eternity Giving is the Only Antidote to Materialism God Prospers Me Not to Raise My Standard of Living, but to Raise My Standard of Giving God Owns Everything, and I Am His Money Manager Psalm 24:1 — “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” Haggai 2:8 — “ 'The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty.” Deuteronomy 8:18 — “Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” 1 Corinthians 4:2 — “Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.” Romans 14:10-12 — “For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat … each of us will give an account of himself to God.” My Heart Always Goes Where I Put God's Money Matthew 6:19-21 — “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Heaven, Not Earth, Is My Home Philippians 3:20 — “Our citizenship is in heaven.” Psalm 90:10 — “The length of our days is seventy years—or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.” Psalm 39:5b — “Each man’s life is but a breath.” I Should Not Live Merely for the Moment but for Eternity Hebrews 11:25-26 — “[Moses] chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.” Matthew 25:21 — “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’" Giving Is the Only Antidote to Materialism Ecclesiastes 5:10, 13-14 — “Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless … I have seen a grievous evil under the sun: wealth hoarded to the harm of its owner, or wealth lost through some misfortune, so that when he has a son there is nothing left for him.” 1 Timothy 6:9-10 — “People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” 1 Timothy 6:17-18 — “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.” God Prospers Me Not to Raise My Standard of Living, but to Raise My Standard of Giving Malachi 3:10b — “ 'Test me in this, ’says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.' ” Acts 20:35 — “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” 2 Corinthians 8:7 — “But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.” 2 Corinthians 9:7 — “God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:10-13 — “Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.” Additional Verses 1 Chronicles 29:14 — ”But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” 2 Chronicles 24:10 — All the officials and all the people brought their contributions gladly, dropping them into the chest until it was full. 2 Corinthians 9:6 — Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Psalm 37:21 — The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously. Proverbs 21:26 — The righteous give without sparing. Mark 12:41-44 — Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” Proverbs 28:27 — He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses. 1 John 3:17 — If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? 1 Timothy 6:9-10 — People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 2 Timothy 3:1-2 — But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy. Hebrews 13:5 — Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Matthew 10:42 — And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward. Matthew 25:21 — “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ ” Matthew 25:34-36 — Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Romans 12:6-7 — " We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully." Proverbs 3:9-10 — "Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine." Giving

here is another Word of encouragement: Be a part of a wonderful mission As we grow, as we increase, we will be able to do more. Helping those in need in Africa, here at home in the USA, anywhere in the world. "The Bible says, “One gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper” (Proverbs 11:24-25).Another passage about giving says, “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously” (2 Corinthians 9:6). When we give, we should do it with a sense of expectancy—anticipating God to provide an increase even though we have no idea when or how he may choose to do it. In my experience, he can be very creative! Remember that you receive the advantages of giving only when you give out of a heart filled with love. This rules out the motive of giving just to get." http://compass1.org/resources/money-qa/advantages-of-giving/

Partner, Donate, Support

Our desire is to help those who can not help themselves whether it be for lack of resources, lack of employment, or a lack of the basic essentials, whether it be in Third world countries or those who are our neighbors and those in surrounding communities throughout America. We partner with those who are struggling to provide education, medical assistance and basic needs for Families, Orphans, Widows and the homeless. We first encourage them, build up thier self esteem and equip and train them to support their households. We help to provide shelter, food, clean water, medical care and school supplies and fees. We have have partnered with ministries in West Africa to provide a water well, school classrooms, washrooms, kitchen and safe school yards. We are renovating a small building in the middle of the ghetto streets of Little Accra. When completed it will include a main sanctuary, offices, urinals and a childrens wing. We want to provide a place for those in need to go and recieve assistance. our next plan is to help build a home and training center, and community center in another community in Kumasi. Also, It is our desire to help others around the world and in our own back yard to stand with and walk with them through thier most trying times. It is our hope that they in turn will be encouraged to help others in need. We desire to be physically present and travel where needed to provide such assistance. We are seeking those who have a heart to give, who desire to see the fruits of their resources. there are many who can not Go but would rather give in confidence knowing thier provisions will be used almost entirely towards helping others. Building Foundations 1X1 takes the resources to build families and individual lives through training, spiritual encouragement and support. http://buildingfoundation.wix.com/building-foundations

He Knows In Advance

God is preparing the way before us. For us and for our mission. We are on a lifelong mission to serve here at home and all around the world. Pray for us. Support Building Foundations 1x1. Contact us. Donate. God will provide. God will work it all out. "Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh which means “the Lord will provide”. To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”" "God is preparing an answer before we know that it is a need. See Genesis 22:1-14." "We are often taken by surprise by circumstances and events in our lives. God never is. He knows in advance all that is going to transpire. He cares. He has provision ready for us."
God truly is Jehoveh-jireh.

It Will Produce Fruit

From Isaiah 55: ...Isaiah 55:5, 8, 11, 13 You also will command nations you do not know, and peoples unknown to you will come running to obey, because I, the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, have made you glorious.” “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.“ And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where nettles grew, myrtles will sprout up. These events will bring great honor to the Lord’s name; they will be an everlasting sign of his power and love.” God is working it all out before us. Prepare us Lord. Something To Give

"Each of us has something to give. Some have wealth, some have talents, some have time. Whatever gifts we have been given -- large or small -- we should share generously. When we do, we make the world better for someone else and find true m...eaning and satisfaction in our own lives." "Feed the hungry! Help those in trouble! Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you shall be as bright as day. And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy you with all good things, and keep you healthy too; and you will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. The Ministry Of Support Raising

Join with us. An easy way to make a huge impact in someone's life is to donate, donate to faithful, honest, worthy causes. We are one. God touched our hearts to serve those I need. Right now we are helping to build a home and training center for orphans and widows in an area of Kumasi, Ghana. There, is also a Church we are helping to build a place of worship in a neighborhood in Kumasi. Also, there's our first partnership ,we help in building a school and support many children with a good education. Also, we raise money to help individuals in need throughout Kumasi and Accra, Ghana. Out of this mission in our hearts, we have a desire to meet needs of anyone in need locally in our hometown, our city, our country America, and anywhere around the world. We developed our non profit for this purpose. "Building Foundations 1x1" meeting needs of others. Touching lives, making a difference in someone's life, one at a time. This is from Christ's command to Love God love others. God uses what ever we give and He makes it grow. So I know the more others give to our mission, God will grow even more to serve so many more... just doing what God has called us to do. "Some would-be missionaries tend to view support-raising as a necessary evil before they can get to a ministry assignment. Support raising is actually a ministry in itself - one that stretches and affirms your own faith as well as blessing those who become part of your support team. It is, indeed, a special type of ministry, and your first chance to help change people's lives. Engaging people in God's Kingdom work and providing opportunities for them to be involved and to have an impact is a special part of your calling as a missionary. Embrace it."
Question about Funding for missionaries:"What can I do to successfully raise prayer and financial support" "Combine faith-filled prayer with fearless communication. I believe that where God guides, he provides. Yet, just as I learned how to preach, I had to learn how to raise support. The way I have raised support is by fearlessly praying and communicating. First, I pray to find out what God wants me to do, and then through prayer I apply his promises to those needs. Second, in an honest up-front way, I share with my home church and prayer partners what I intend to do and what I need to get the job done. I have never begged for money. Instead, after praying about my needs, church leaders and supporters usually ask what I need. Sometimes the Lord gives me creative ways to share those needs in a newsletter or through some other communication with my support team. "Watch God provide through doing your part and through others When God started calling me to missions, it took me a very long time to listen. I'd left college with an honors degree and excellent references and was looking for a teaching job. After months of applications, interviews, and near misses, I gave into the "still small voice" and wrote to a missions group for information about teaching positions they had. When the information pack arrived a few days later, I looked through it and was horrified to learn that I would have to raise personal support. I thought through my list of family and friends. Many had just left college as I had and were struggling to pay off student loans. Some were newly married and taking on the responsibilities of mortgages and other home costs. There was no one I felt I could ask for money, so I filed the papers under the bed and tried to forget about it. I told my parents my new plan for the next two years, filled out the application forms, and let all my family and friends know. My dad and I began to dream up creative schemes for fundraising-donor dinners, bake sales, craft sales. I took a Christmas job in a shop to help pay off my school debt. In the early summer, my church let me have a table at the Village Festival to sell some of my unwanted belongings to raise money. Several people gave me one-time gifts, and offers of monthly support began to filter in. There were no miraculous meetings, no huge, unexpected donations, but many small gifts, often from people I hardly knew. Before my dad and I had a chance to put any of our plans into action, I added up how much I had, how much had been promised, and what I had managed to save from my job. I discovered that slowly, quietly, and unobtrusively God had provided exactly the total I needed for my two-year commitment. I always knew he could do it but never really believed he would do it for me. I have now been in missions for five years, and God has continued to provide for my needs, plus a few "wants" on the side! More than that, he has broadened my horizons beyond my imagination and allowed me to be part of His plan in many people's lives.Excerpted from pp. 186ff in the book Scaling the Wall: Overcoming Obstacles to Missions Involvement, by Kathy Hicks. "Give generously to missionaries now and receive from others later." Over twenty years ago I quit my job as a pharmacist to join Campus Crusade for Christ. I needed to raise a significant amount of support per month plus some for one-time needs. One thing I recall is that I had been giving generously to different mission organizations in the previous three years, above the tithe to my church. As I gave, Luke 6:38 applied: "Give, and it will be given to you."I somewhat naively thought that the Lord could bring these pledges together in about thirty days. Praise God, he did exactly that. And my home church pledged nothing that first year. "Follow the example of George Muller – trust God alone." WEC's tradition of trusting God alone for provision comes from scriptural examples and the influence of the life of George Muller. In the 1800s, Muller was guided by God to begin an orphanage in Bristol, England, by faith in the promises of God. He made no appeal for funds, but rather sought God to move in people's hearts so they would give toward the care of the orphans. Muller's testimony to God's faithful provision influenced Hudson Taylor, founder of the China Inland Mission, and later C.T. Studd, founder of WEC, who began his mission career with Taylor in China. Reflect on the words of Muller: "Over the years the Lord has faithfully taken care of us financially in our work of caring for the orphans by constantly raising up new supporters. God's promise is that they that trust in the Lord shall never be confounded. . . for one reason or another were we to lean upon man we would inevitably be disappointed; but, in leaning upon the living God alone, moment by moment, we are beyond disappointment and beyond being forsaken because of death, or of not having enough to live on or enough love or because of the needs of other works also requiring support. How precious to have learned to stand with God alone in the world, and yet to be happy and confident, and to know that 'no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.'"Some who read or hear of Muller's adventures of faith say, "Oh, he had a very special gift of faith, but I couldn't live like that!" Muller argues, "It is the selfsame faith which is found in every believer ... Oh, I plead with you, do not think me an extraordinary believer, having privileges above others of God's dear children, which they cannot have, nor look on my way of acting as something that would not do for other believers ... Do but stand still in the hour of trial, and you will see the help of God if you trust in Him." "Share your passion with everyone." I raised my support without realizing I was raising support. All I did was get excited about what God was doing in my life. That's all. I started telling everyone I knew about how God had called me to Mexico as a missionary. I wasn't even thinking about support when I was doing this, I just was so passionate about what God was doing that I couldn't stop talking about it. I was working as a waitress at a local restaurant, and one evening I was speaking about what what God was doing in my life. It turned out that the couple I was waiting on were pastors of a church all the way across the country, and they were searching for missionaries to support. Just because of my passion, and my desire to communicate to others what God was doing, that one church now fully supports me and has been doing so for more than a year.Prayer and passion – those are the two things that I had, and those are the two things that God used to get me what I needed. "Realize that support raising is your first ministry assignment!" Some would-be missionaries tend to view support-raising as a necessary evil before they can get to a ministry assignment. Embrace it. Learning to raise support often happens through training provided by the missions agency. Sometimes that training is extensive and quite helpful. Sometimes there is little to no training at all. That's where it can be helpful to find other resources such as books and seminars to help. One great resource that is comprehensive and inexpensive is called Partners for LIFE: How to Build, Grow and Maintain Your Missionary Support Team. It provides online video training sessions, downloadable materials and more that you can access anytime from anywhere. Many have found this training to be extremely helpful. Maybe you will, too. Start with the support-raising blog and a sample video. "Trust God and ask him." I trust God first and talk to him about what I really need the most. So it is: to ask him, to listen and to have a good relationship so his heart is opened. He will provide anything we ask, especially the financial support.

Serving Together

Andy and I would like to take a moment to share the heart and vision of Building Foundations. The work we do in Ghana for The Gonzalez complex and the PLC Orphans and Widows is an ongoing mission that started in 2007. Our desire is to gather resources through Grants, monthly donors and find those that are willing to help us help others. In the near future we would like to have readily available resources that would allow us to reach out to Those in our own backyard, community and throughout the state. We would like to build up the small needs ministry near and far. We desire to provide immediate help to those in need, whether it be to help pay a bill, provide food, clothing, to partner with others to meet the small needs of those around us. We would like to Help You to help others. However we can. We can not do this alone, and God has placed it in our hearts to find others to partner with us in this area. We have never been discouraged to help others alone, For we have seen God provide, but we feel deeply that we can do so much more with the help of others. If God is speaking to you to reach out and serve others, We would like to Help you to help others. This is our desire and we are trusting God to provide the finances for this. Please feel free to message us if you have something on your heart that we can pray with you for... We are so much better serving together..

It's The Action

Partner with us. ...give to this worthy cause. "It's the action, not the fruit of the action, that's important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there'll be any fruit. But that doesn't mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.” - Mahatma Gandhi

Urgent Need Jan 2015

URGENT NEED - Building Foundations partnering with Perfect Love Chapel to build a Training Center for Widows and Orphans and a home to house them all together. The land that was purchased for this Ministry is in need of donations. The Chief of the village has posted a notice stating that we need to begin work on the plots or the Land will be taken from us and sold to someone else. We need to begin building walls around the Land, which will allow us to keep the land. We need your help, every dollar counts. We need to raise $5500.00 dollars to complete the project. Please consider joining us in this great work that will bless many. All donations are tax-deductible and 100 % will go towards the work. Thanks - Andy and Julie Estrada

Act on What You Hear

(The Message) Act on What You Hear
James 1:19-21 Post this at all the intersections, dear friends: Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn't grow from human anger. So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.
22-24 Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.
25 But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God - the free life! - even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action.
26-27 Anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world. Help us Help other... Donate to this mission: buildingfoundation.wix.com/building-foundations
